Covert issue to drive Bee Cave annexation push?
At least one Bee Cave City Council member is in favor of widespread annexation of all undeveloped property in the City's ETJ.
Council Member Zelda Auslander went on the record on a local newspaper site in the last few days saying "The best and only legal way for Bee Cave to protect itself and enforce ordinances is to pursue Home Rule and annex all undeveloped property in our ETJ...I am committed to pursuing this course. But keep in mind, there will always be adjacent properties just beyond our limits."
Long time local resident Carolyn Crumley Grumbles responded to a post last week about the annexation issue on BeeCaveBee.com on FaceBook; "What about us who originated for generations from here? We own a ranch, are good stewards of our land and water and have been for over 6 generations, not bothering anyone. Now, you are suggesting we be annexed? Yes, not by our choice, but we are in the City ETJ. I find this quite disturbing."
Bee Cave's ETJs extend along 71, Hamilton Pool Road and up 620 to the Lakeway City Line. See the map HERE.
