Gilbert moving from UT
The troubled career of ex LTHS quarterback Garrett Gilbert takes a turn as he agrees to leave the Longhorns and enroll at SMU next semester.
He is expected to sit out next season after completing his planned shoulder surgery and possibly succeed Kyle Padron with one year of eligibility remaining. Gilbert was dropped by UT after only two games as starting quarterback. Said Gilbert "it is in my best interest to transfer. I can't thank all of my teammates and everyone at Texas enough for all of their support, but I just think I'm at a point in my life where I need a fresh start."
